Look at me getting all fancy up in here with the new lay-out for the weekly meal plan!  Ok, not all that fancy, but I’m trying something new. 🙂 Being so new to blogging is a lot of fun because I am learning a ton of new things. I have started playing around in Canva and it is an awesome source for FREE graphics and logos. From what I have seen so far, it looks to be great for birthday invitations, announcements, etc.

Right now the weekly meal plan is usually 5 dinners because one night is left-over night and the other night may be dinner out or boring, old breakfast for dinner! I feel good having a solid plan for at least 5 dinners a week. Often times I do cook every night and so I get to indulge a craving I might be having that wasn’t on the meal plan. I am extremely motivated by food!

I also try to include a couple of meals each week that have some sort of time savings benefit. This week those meals are the stuffed shells and the creamy tomato tortellini soup. For the shells, I doubled the amount of sauce I made and froze a container. Having sauce on hand is wonderful for a night when Dan has weird hours and can’t have dinner with us or for a night when I make a spicy dish the kids won’t eat. The soup is my other time savings recipe because I always have left overs so I know I have lunch figured out for the next day or part of dinner for left over night.

Later this week I will be sharing some tips on how to make a satisfying meal plan. Practical tips from an every day, real life person that knows not every meal can be a gourmet feast that requires hours of preparation, not every meal is going to be the kid’s favorite dish and not every meal has to cost a lot of money.
